FAQ: What you need to know

Q. What are types of material recovery services does MaSeR provide?
A. The MaSeR process effectively upgrades many types of composite materials such as electronic scrap, metallic coated plastic automotive parts, laminated plastic and metal packaging (i.e. blister packs), bottle caps, and a variety of other materials. Send a description of your material and quantity to info@masercorp.com and we'll let you know if your materials are suitable.

Q. Does MaSeR pay me for the materials I ship for processing?
A. If MaSeR has already established the intrinsic value of a composite material, we will provide you with a purchase price for same. Otherwise, we will run the material through our system as a pilot. This will require a minimum of 30,000 pounds of the same material. Output products will then be weighed and analyzed and full material value calculated. Depending on the value vs. processing costs, MaSeR will either pay or the customer will be charged the difference.

Q. What if I want the metals and plastics produced by the MaSeR process back?
A. Not a problem. MaSeR will charge a tolling fee to run the material through the system and return the output products to you for reuse or sale.

Q. Are there certain materials that MaSeR charges a fee to process?
A. Yes. Some materials, such as high-plastic, low value electronic products, cost more to run through the system than the system can produce in output value. The value here is that generators of scrap that might otherwise become waste are able to avoid disposal and completely recover even the lowest value scrap. In these cases, MaSeR will quote a price per pound for material destruction and recovery services.

Q. Does MaSeR have specific criteria for acceptable materials?
A. Yes, We cannot process any hazardous material through our system. Typically, these may include such items a batteries, LCD displays, CRTs and mercury switches. If you have these materials see next question below. MaSeR's Material Acceptance Criteria details these requirements.

Q. What if there are unacceptable components in my material? Does that mean MaSeR cannot upgrade my materials for me?
A. No. MaSeR can provide triage services to render your materials suitable for the MaSeR process. Send a description of the types and quantities of materials you have to info@masercorp.com for a complete quotation.

Q. How long does it take for my material to be processed?
A. Depending upon the size of the lot shipped, MaSeR will process your material for you within two to seven business days of receipt.

Q. What type of documentation will I receive?
A. For pilot lots where intrinsic material values will be established via the MaSeR process, a Lot Reconciliation Report documenting the weights of the individual metals and plastic produced by the system can be provided. For every lot processed, a Certificate of Destruction & Recycling will be provided.

Q. Will MaSeR arrange for transportation?
A. Yes. MaSeR can make all of your transportation arrangements. Transportation costs can be deducted from your lot value.

Q. How should my material be packaged for shipment?
A. Since the MaSeR process does the separation for you, there is no need for packaging material other than, perhaps, loading onto pallets or into gaylord (4' x 4') boxes. In fact, MaSeR prefers to receive materials baled, which also helps maximize transportation efficiency. If palletizing, simply assure that all materials are wrapped securely to the pallet to avoid unnecessary unloading charges imposed by carriers that have to wait. Better yet, contact your MaSeR account representative for packing and shipping assistance.
